A rock concert without guitars! Without amplifier. Just a singer and a 3-row melodeon. The songs that build the myth of rock'n'roll treduced to their essence, in the iconoclastic attitude of the street musician. Due to its reduced size, the melodeon was maybe the most popular instrument among immigrants. Its simple frame could change in many ways, according to which country it was built, yet it could convey a wide range of expression, and emotions. And, as in E. A. Proulx' novel, it had to be sacrificed in order to achieve full "Americanity". Paddies, Wops, Chicanos... You name'em. all in three rows, and twelve basses. * Groucho, of course.
