Songs of Love and Struggle

GIULIA TRIPOTI - voice, loops and toys GIULIANO CONTARDO - voice and guitar DANIELE CONTARDO - melodeon, accordion, and voice LUCIO GRAZIANO - drums, percussion
PANeROSE, Bread and Roses, were born from the collaboration between Roman singer/songwriter Giulia Tripoti and the two Contardo Brothers from Turin, songwriter Giuliano and street performer and multi-instrumentalist Daniele - to say nothing of percussion master Lucio Graziano.
The quartet presents an exciting trip in Italian traditional songs. The diversity and richness of Italian traditional song is displayed with fine interplay among delicate and intricate acoustic guitar and melodeon interplay and throbbing percussion, from foot-stiomping pizziche and tarante to heartrending ballads from Piedmont, Tuscany, Rome, and the deep South.
The Boot is laced in his richness of dialects and history and culture - and humor.
Original songs, Partisan songs, rice-pickers', emigrants, rovers and workers.
Songs of Love and Struggle. Bread, and Roses too.
